GARDEN GUARDIANS (Grades 2-4)
WEDNESDAYS | 2:40-3:45pm
Instructor: Victor Kusmin, Driscoll dad of Zara(3Z) and Zippy(2G)
Proceeds from this class tuition will support the development of additional programming in your school garden. Students will roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty as they feed the soil, sow the seeds, and nurture the web of life in the garden. They will observe plant anatomy and schoolyard ecology. They will create signage, art, and engineered solutions for the garden. They will develop their own concepts for the future of garden and outdoor classroom. Mostly we will play with soil, plants, and other garden inhabitants. Through all these activities (establishing a connection to the garden, investing in its growth, participating in its design), the students will contribute to the development of the garden into a hands-on outdoor classroom the entire school community will utilize and be proud of.
