GARDEN GUARDIANS (Grades 2-4)
WEDNESDAYS | 2:40-3:45pm
Location: Garden (Room 208 in case of rain)
Instructor: Victor Kusmin, dt Zara(5S) & Zippy(4M), Driscoll School Garden Co-chair
Students will roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty as they explore and nurture the web of life in the school garden. They will observe plant anatomy and schoolyard ecology. They will create signage, art, and engineered solutions for the garden. They will develop their own concepts for the future of the garden and outdoor classroom. Mostly we will play with soil, plants, and other garden inhabitants. By establishing a connection to the garden, investing in its growth, and participating in its design, the students will contribute to the development of the garden into a hands-on outdoor classroom the entire school community will utilize and be proud of. Proceeds from this class tuition will support your school garden.
