PHOTOGRAPHY (Grades 4-8)
THURSDAYS | 2:40-3:40pm
Location: Room 303, Third floor
Instructor: Robin Radin
Class description: In this class we will review the basics of camera operation, create collage-type sun prints, experiment with painting with light using long camera exposure and flashlight, go on a photographic treasure hunt. Different themes will be explored: we will take pictures of found objects, take self-portraits, and learn to photograph our immediate surroundings. In addition, we will review student photographs and discuss editing and sequencing. Each student will arrange his/her work either on a poster board or in a small notebook to take home.
Students should bring cameras with fully charge batteries and memory cards to every class. Cell phone cameras are also acceptable. After each class students will be encouraged to pick out and print five of their favorite photographs from our weekly photographic outing to bring to class the following week.
Class size limited to 8 students.
